This game served as the foundation for the series' culmination, "Hakuoki Shinkai," which was released in 2015. Since the launch of the "Hakuoki" series in 2008, numerous fan disks and anime adaptations have been created based on this game. In addition to the original story of "Hakuoki," players can also experience the additional scenario, the "Tea ceremony event."

Story

Set during the end of the Edo Era, specifically in the third year of the Bunkyu Era, "Hakuoki" follows the protagonist Chizuru Yukimura. Raised in Edo and daughter to a Rangaku scholar, Chizuru decides to visit her father in Kyoto after losing contact with him. During her visit, she witnesses a Shinsengumi soldier slaying a bloodthirsty monster. Through a twist of fate, Chizuru becomes intertwined with the Shinsengumi and finds herself pursued by assassins. As she delves deeper into their world, Chizuru will uncover their dark secret. In an era plagued by chaos, these men of the Shinsengumi fight to protect their beliefs and ideals, making history with their blades in a battle hidden within the chaotic riots that marked the end of the Edo period.

Tea Ceremony Event

In February 1867, Chizuru is invited to attend a tea party on behalf of Kondo. She agrees to go accompanied by the Shinsengumi warriors. What lies behind this sudden invitation? What adventures await her? Discover the answers as you spend quality time with your favorite character in the "Tea ceremony event." Please note that this scenario can be enjoyed by purchasing the "Tea ceremony event" and is recommended to be played after completing the main story.
